MH-16 Access Platform Operator

| Aims |
| To provide participants who have completed an approved Introduction to Rigging and Slinging course with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate an Access Platform safely and efficiently in accordance with the Brunei Shell P.L.I.C. The course also provides an update on any changes in safety and operational procedures. |
| Content |
- Be aware and use of correct PPE
- Plan and prepare for work in an access platform
- Understand the hazards associated with operation
- Understand the principles of stability in relation to access platforms
- Operate platform in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and in accordance with BSP-ASS-S-004
- Read and understand all warning signs and decals – electrical hazards, tipping and crushing hazards.
- Carry out pre-start, pre-operational checks
- Complete log books, risk assessments and other reporting
- Safely set up access platform – (with and without outriggers)
- Explain and demonstrate emergency descent and controlled descent device operation-how and when to use.
- Demonstrate all boom movements and drive platform competently and confidently avoiding hazards – ground conditions, angles, obstructions
- Inspect and correctly wear and fit fall arrest harness
- Gain an understanding of suspension trauma, rescue and first aid

| The duration of the course is 3-days. The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait or suitable client facility. |
