MH-12 Banksman

 
Aims The skills and knowledge gained by the participants form attending the training course will enable them to carry out their work/job in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Company’s guidelines and industry best practices.
Outcomes
  • List, explain the key HSE requirements specific to BANKSMAN.
  • Know the COMPANY HSE Policy.
  • Know how to carry out hazard identifications and assessment of controls needed to execute the work at hand.
  • Know about the need for Permit To Work required.
  • Basic knowledge of PAKAT or ‘STOP’ card.
  • List and explain the Company’s procedures specific to BANKSMAN activities.
  • Identify and explain the uses of the different types of lifting tackles, including but not be limited to slings, chains, hooks, and eyebolts in use in the COMPANY.
  • Explain the reasons and procedures for inspecting lifting tackle.
  • Identify the weight and centre of gravity of a predetermined uniform load.
  • Select the required lifting equipment to lift the load.
  • Explain the principles of calculating the safe working load of multi legged slings
  • Rig the predetermined load in accordance with safe rigging practices.
  • De-rig on completion in accordance with the Company’s procedures.
  • Communicate with crane operator using signals, according international standards.
  • Explain the reasons and procedures for inspecting lifting tackle.

  • Select the required lifting equipment to lift the load.

  • Safely control and direct using standard signals, that will have included, but not be limited to:
    • A vertical lift of a minimum of 20 ft.
    • A simulated emergency stop
    • Landing a load at a predetermined position at normal ground level.
    • Landing a load at a predetermined position at normal ground level.
    • Landing a load at a predetermined position not less that 4 feet below normal ground level.
    • In accordance with the Company’s procedures.
  • Undertake pre- and post-use checks on lifting tackle but not limited to chains, slings and shackles.
  • Explain and demonstrate correct storing of lifting equipment that will have included, but not limited to chains, slings and shackles.
Location and Duration The duration of the course is 2-days The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait or any other suitable location.
