Mil-4 Basic Sea Survival Techniques, Suitable for Brunei Naval Personnel
Aims
To ensure that on completion of the course the candidate will have the basic competence to survive at sea in an abandon ship situation.
Outcomes
Understand the types of emergency situations such as collisions, fire and foundering
Demonstrate knowledge of the types of lifesaving appliances normally carried onboard ships.
Know and operate the main types of equipment contained in life rafts.
Understand the principles concerning sea survival
Demonstrate the correct use of personnel protective clothing i.e. survival (immersion) suits
Understand the alarm systems used in an emergency situation.
Demonstrate the actions to be taken when launching life rafts.
Demonstrate the actions to be taken when in the water (Personnel survival techniques)
Demonstrate the required primary actions to be taken when onboard a life raft.
Understand the main dangers of short and long-term water immersion.
The above course content can be tailored to suit client specific requirements.
Location and Duration
The duration of the course is One (1)-day The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait. Using classroom facilities and the Megamas Environmental pool, including wave generator.

Valid medical certificate

Megamas recommend training every three years.
