Aims To give participants theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enable safe transfer by boat/barge to fixed and floating facilities.
Outcomes
  • discuss various methods of transfer by boat/ barge to and from fixed facilities. Theoretical content covers personnel net (basket), swing rope and gangway supported by video.
  • identify the hazards involved during transfer, past incidents and learning points.
  • describe operational procedures and good practice.
  • demonstrate personnel net (basket), swing rope and gangway transfer techniques in a variety of simulated sea conditions, culminating in man overboard rescue.
  • Note: This course is approved by the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation, UK.
Location and Duration The duration of the course is 2-hrs The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait.
