FA-6 Caring for Kids - St. John Ambulance, Australia Approved

 
Aims To give participants the skills and knowledge needed to be competent in child/baby resuscitation and the management of first aid until medical aid arrives.
Outcomes
  • describe principles of first aid
  • place a casualty in the recovery position (demonstration and practice)
  • understand the respiratory system
  • apply Expired Air Resuscitation EAR (child) (demonstration & practice)
  • understand the circulatory system
  • apply Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR (child & infant) (demonstration & practice)
  • understand conditions affecting consciousness
  • control bleeding (demonstration & practice)
  • understand the skeletal system
  • identify and treat fractures (demonstration & practice)
  • identify and treat burns, poisons, bites & stings
  • identify acute illnesses
Location and Duration The duration of the course is 10 hrs (2 x 5 hrs session) The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait.
