Megamas Training Company - OFF-6 Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain

Aims

To provide participants with the required knowledge and practical skills to maintain and operate a rescue craft during normal and emergency situations.

Outcomes

Describe hull design, general requirements and basic workings of the engine, gearbox, steering and electrics
Launch and recover a Fast Rescue Craft from a slipway or a vessel in response to alarm signals and scheduled drills
Demonstrate effective boat handling techniques in all weather conditions at all speeds
Recover Man overboard and provide emergency first aid
Effectively Demonstrate coming in and leaving from alongside
Demonstrate pacing at sea alongside a parent vessel to effect passenger and causality transfer
Maintain effective radio communications
Conduct search patterns in open water and coastal areas
Demonstrate effective towing techniques, e.g. lifeboats and liferafts
Carry out maintenance as described in manufacturers handbooks

Location and Duration

The duration of the course is 3-days The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait. Or at a suitable client location
