Megamas Training Company - MH-1 Forklift Truck Driving for Up to 3 Ton Capacity and Over 3 Ton Capacity

Aims

The skills and knowledge gained by the participants from attending the training course will enable them to carry out their work/job in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Company’s guidelines and industry best practices.

Outcomes

List, explain the key HSE requirements specific to forklift operations.
Know the BSP HSE Policy.
Know how to carry out hazard identifications and assessment of controls needed to execute the work at hand.
Know about the need for Permit To Work required.
Basic knowledge of PAKAT.
Basic knowledge of Chemical Handling.
List, explain and demonstrate in action the skills and competencies learned form the training specific to the operation of forklift trucks.
List and explain the principles of balancing, stability and security for the safe uplifting, moving and placement of typical Company loads.
With reference to the relevant manufacturers or company’s handbook(s) / manual(s):
- Carry out pre and post operational checks on a specified forklift truck(s)
- Undertake routine cleaning and operator inspections on a specified forklift truck(s)
- Explain what action(s) they have to take in the event of a breakdown and/or identification a fault on a specified forklift truck(s).
For a given selection of typical loads which will include, but not be limited to, palletize goods, tubular, plates and skips safely.
- Lift from ground level
- Lift from height storage such as racks
- Traverse a minimum distance of 50 metres over a predetermined course which included but was not limited to a narrow, hard solid surface
- Manoeuvre forwards and backwards in a simulated confined space storage area
- Place on the ground, an offshore container and on a typical variety of Company’s racking.
List the typical loads that could be safely moved by a specified forklift truck(s) from a selection of loads which included but was not limited to:
- Loads in excess of the SWL
- Loads not correctly stacked
- Loads correctly stacked and within the SWL
Identify the main hazards associated with the operational of selected forklift truck(s)
Identify the environmental effects of a forklift truck(s) and the actions that can be taken to minimize those effects.
List and explain the application of the forklift load chart and load indicator.
Know the effect of the forklift trucks capacity when attachments are fitted.
Know the safe, proper fueling and charging procedures.
Know the safe procedure in the event of the forklift truck overturning.

Location and Duration

The duration of the course is 3-days The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait or any other suitable location.
