FA-13 Basic Workplace First Aid - St. John Ambulance, Australia Approved

 
Aims For the participants to be competent in resuscitation and the management of shock, bleeding and burns. Upon successful completion of a practical and theory assessment a certificate of competency is issued, valid for three years.
Outcomes
  • describe legislation and documentation
  • describe principles of first aid
  • place a casualty in the recovery position (demonstration & practice)
  • understand the respiratory system
  • understand the circulatory system
  • apply Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR (demonstration & practice)
  • be able to use the Automated External Defibrillator
  • recognise and manage anaphylaxis
  • deal with shock
  • control bleeding & infection control
  • deal with soft tissue injuries
  • recognize and manage fractures (demonstration)
  • manage a burns casualty
  • evaluation of performance and stress management
Location and Duration The duration of the course is 1-day The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait.
