Aims

To provide a focused, in-depth knowledge in on-site 1st oil spill response operations. The course concentrates on the skills and tools needed to actively respond to an oil spill at the supervisory level.

Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

Detail the information requirements for Spill Assessment
Demonstrate the knowledge necessary to deploy the correct tools & techniques for Containment, Diverting and Recovery of Oil
Detail equipment maintenance requirements
Understand Dispersant Application and response Considerations
Carry out Shoreline Assessment and implement clean up strategies
Give an overview of Site Safety requirements
Understand Mechanical Containment and Recovery
State the waste management techniques for remaining oil residues
Understand Oil Sampling and Evidence Gathering
Give an Overview of Wildlife Response

The duration of the course is 5 days The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Integrated Safety Training Centre in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait.
