MH-5 Overhead Crane Operator

Aims

To provide participants who have completed an approved Rigging and Slinging course with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate an Overhead Traveling Crane safely and efficiently in accordance with the Brunei Shell P.L.I.C. The course also refreshes participants in slinging/rigging techniques and updates any changes in safety and operational procedures.

Content

Be aware and use of correct PPE
Be confident in the use of and demonstrate hand signals
Understand requirements and personnel involved with lifting operations
Be able to develop and understand lift plans for routine lift
Refresher on inspection and reporting on equipment to be used for the lift
Refresher on slinging loads
Safe operation of overhead cranes including SWL, limitations, limit switches and brakes
Be able to check and identify for hazards and remove where possible - `KNOW YOUR WORKPLACE’
Be able to barricade and ensure non-essential personnel are not permitted to enter work area
Be confident to safely and efficiently control lift & load, control load swing
Be able to perform post operational inspection on crane and equipment

Location and Duration

The duration of the course is 2-days. The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait or suitable client facility.
