STCW ’95 Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
Aims
To ensure that on completion of the course the candidate will meet the minimum standard of competence required for personal safety and social responsibilities on board ship in accordance with A-V/1-4 of the STCW Code.
Outcomes
Comply with emergency procedures and demonstrate knowledge of shipboard contingency plans for response to emergencies.
Demonstrate knowledge of emergency signals and duties of crew members allocated in the muster list
Understand requirements at muster stations and correct use of personal safety equipment
Demonstrate knowledge of action to be taken on discovering a potential emergency.
Demonstrate knowledge of escape routes, internal communication and alarm systems.
Take precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment
Observe safe working practices
Understand orders and be understood in relation to shipboard duties
Contribute to effective human relationships on board ship

The duration of the course is 1-day The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait.
