- State the key aspects of Company policy and procedures on fitness, medicines and substance abuse,
- Describe the offshore travel, living and working arrangements,
- State actions to take in the event of illness and injury,
- Described the layout of installations, the use of alarms and methods of communication,
- State the need for the use of correct PPE
- Describe the search and rescue organisation for sea rescue,
- Muster and board a survival craft (TEMPSC),
- Don a permanent buoyancy lifejacket,
- Enter water from height,
- Launch and inflate a marine life raft,
- Carry out first aid in a liferaft or TEMPSC,
- Carry out in-water individual and group survival procedures,
- State the common causes of fire on offshore oil and gas installations,
- Describe fixed fire and gas detection systems,
- List the actions to take on discovering fire,
- Operate fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets,
- Carry out self rescue using respiratory protection from areas subject to smoke and heat,
- Carry out self rescue without respiratory protection from areas subject to smoke,
- Carry out self rescue using respiratory protection from areas subject to smoke,
- Describe Company requirements for Offshore Passes and personal Safety Log books,
- Use a swing rope transfer and personnel basket transfer from a simulated boat to a fixed platform
- Describe the pre boarding, boarding, in flight and disembarkation procedures,
- State the types of in-flight emergency and describe the likely ditching and emergency landing scenarios,
- Describe the evacuation process with reference to donning lifejackets, on-board emergency equipment, escape routes, exit points and their operation, survival techniques following evacuation
- Don an aviation lifejacket,
- Evacuate form a helicopter following an emergency dry landing,
- Dry evacuation from a helicopter ditched in water to a liferaft,
- Escape, through an exit underwater, from a partially submerged helicopter,
- Escape from a capsized helicopter and inflation of lifejacket.
- Note: This course is approved by the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation.
