Aims

To give participants the skills and knowledge needed to be competent in child/baby resuscitation and the management of first aid until medical aid arrives.

Outcomes

Describe principles of first aid
Place a casualty in the recovery position (demonstration and practice)
Understand the respiratory system
Apply Expired Air Resuscitation EAR (child) (demonstration & practice)
Understand the circulatory system
Apply Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR (child & infant) (demonstration & practice)
Understand conditions affecting consciousness
Control bleeding (demonstration & practice)
Understand the skeletal system
Identify and treat fractures (demonstration & practice)
Identify and treat burns, poisons, bites & stings
Identify acute illnesses

Location and Duration

The duration of the course is 10 hours (2 x 5 hrs session). The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait or Megamas Kiulap.
