Efficient Deck Hand Course

Aims

The course is to provide education and training to meet the standard of competence as specified in Regulation II / 4 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978, as amended in 1995, and U.K. Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) Marine Guidance Notes (MGN) 97, (Training and Certification Guidance, Part 10 – Ratings)

Outcomes

Attain the competency level to be able to perform the navigation function at support level on a seagoing ship as well as the various skilled jobs which are required on deck in terms of maintenance, operations, safety, security and pollution prevention.
