Participants will be able to:
Ø Identify the common origins, specific locations, leak points and all potential hazards associated with H2S gas
Ø Understand the properties, characteristics and behavior of H2S gas
Ø Understand the symptoms of excess H2S gas in the human body
Ø Understand the occupational exposure limits to H2S gas
Ø Know about the parts per million (ppm) as a measurement parameter
Ø Understand the factors affecting individual susceptibility to H2S gas
Ø Familiar the types of detector equipment and respiratory equipment
Ø Action to be taken in the event of an alarm
Ø Understand 7 steps initial emergency response and the role of response team encounter in an H2S gas
Ø Response an alarm of H2S
Ø Operate the different types of gas detector and methodology of gas monitoring
Ø Demonstrate and with practice use of escape breathing apparatus a mask and hood including pre-use check
Ø Demonstrate connecting and disconnecting cascade breathing system
Practical Assessment
Ø Donning of escape breathing apparatus with mask within 30 seconds Donning of escape breathing apparatus with hood within 30 seconds
