COSHH Hazardous Substances Course

Aims

To ensure participants gain the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to safely use, handle, transport and store/dispose of dangerous substances with a particular focus on COSHH Regulations and Risk Assessment

Outcomes

On completion of the course, participants will be able to:

Categorize and classify hazardous substances
Understand the potential health, safety and environmental impacts of hazardous substances and the main routes of entry into the body
Describe the necessary safe working precautions for a variety of hazardous substances
Be aware of Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL’s) and the new WEL exposure limits
Understand packaging, hazard information, labeling and Material Safety Data Sheet requirements
Give an outline of the COSHH Regulations
Reference related Legislation & Regulations as well as associated company guidelines and procedures
Carry out both generic and COSHH Risk Assessments
Communicate the need for proper control of dangerous substances to work colleagues
Ensure the safe use, storage, handling and transportation of hazardous substances

Location and Duration

The duration of the course is 1 day. The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company in Kuala Belait or Kiulap.
