The course is designed for Managers, advisors, consultants and others who have a specialist environmental role and require a working knowledge of environment management and how it applies to their organisation.

Course content:

• Introduction to environmental issues
• Environments at risk: air, water, land and resources
• Environmental aspects and impacts
• Environmental risk assessment
• Policies and management systems i.e. EMAS, ISO 14001 including policy, planning, implementation, audits and review
• Environmental law and enforcement
• Government policies and guidance
• Energy conservation and waste minimisation
• Water pollution prevention and control
• Environmental auditing
• Integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC)
• Waste Management

Following successful completion of the course delegates will be eligible for Associate membership (AIEMA).

The course is assessed by a 2½-hour examination on the last day of the course followed by an in-company project.
