PTW-2 Managing Hazards At The Workplace

Aims

The course provides underpinning knowledge of the Hazards and Effects Management Process - HEMP, and practical instruction in the use of hazard management tools; e.g. a Safety Checklist Database and Hazard Identification Plans.

At the of the course, participants will be able to understand:

How hazards are identified and assessed
Impact of behaviours on safety performance
BSP House Rules / CIA / Just Culture / Life Saving Rules
Examples of Unsafe Conditions and Unsafe Acts / Use of PAKAT (STOP Card)
The 4 stages of HEMP
The definition of risk
How risk is assessed and use of the Risk Assessment Matrix 2006
What is ALARP
The definition of threats and barriers
The hierarchy of control measures
The key features of a bow tie diagram
PTW System, including use of the SCL, and HIP or JSA
Objectives of Toolbox Talks
Can you spot the hazards exercises
The practical application of HEMP for typical work activities

Location and Duration

The duration of the course is 1-day. The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait.
