PTW-2 Managing Hazards At The Workplace


Aims
The course provides underpinning knowledge of the Hazards and Effects Management Process - HEMP, and practical instruction in the use of hazard management tools; e.g. a Safety Checklist Database and Hazard Identification Plans.

At the of the course, participants will be able to understand:

  • BSP House Rules / CIA / Just Culture / Life Saving Rules
  • Examples of Unsafe Conditions and Unsafe Acts / Use of PAKAT (STOP Card)
  • The 4 stages of HEMP
  • The definition of risk
  • How risk is assessed and use of the Risk Assessment Matrix 2006
  • What is ALARP
  • The definition of threats and barriers
  • The hierarchy of control measures
  • The key features of a bow tie diagram
  • PTW System, including use of the SCL, and HIP or JSA
  • Objectives of Toolbox Talks
  • Can you spot the hazards exercises
  • The practical application of HEMP for typical work activities

The duration of the course is 1-day. The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait.
