Mil-2 Sea Survival, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) including Emergency Breathing System (EBS) and Helicopter Underwater Patient Extraction (HUPE) for Malaysian Personnel

Aims

The purpose of this course is to prepare pilots and aircrew for travel by Helicopter and to successfully escape from a variety of emergency situations when a Helicopter ditches into water using Emergency Breathing System (EBS).

Outcomes

Describe the pre-boarding, boarding, in flight and disembarkation procedures.
State the different types of emergencies and describe the likely ditching and emergency landing scenarios.
Demonstrate the evacuation process including donning helicopter lifejackets, use of escape routes and exits, and the operation of onboard emergency equipment.
Sea Survival Techniques, Heat Escape Lessening Position (HELP), Survival Line and Circle, Hypothermia and Hyperthermia, use of the Heliraft.
Demonstrate, evacuation from a Helicopter following a ditching on land.
Demonstrate, Dry evacuation from a helicopter ditched on water to a Heliraft.
Demonstrate, escape through an exit underwater, from a partially submerged helicopter.
Demonstrate, evacuation techniques in a variety of scenarios from a capsized helicopter and inflate the heli-jacket.
Describe, the physics of the EBS.
Demonstrate, the safe operation of the EBS equipment.
Demonstrate, EBS clearing procedures.
Demonstrate correct evacuation from a ditched helicopter using EBS.
Demonstrate, safe Helicopter winching.
Demonstrate, correct technique when climbing a rescue scramble net.
Demonstrate, Correct technique for Helicopter Underwater extraction of causalities

Location and Duration

The duration of the course is Three (3)-days. The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait. Using classroom facilities and the Megamas Environmental pool, including wave generator.
