The four-day, 143-kilometre Charity kayak expedition from Megamas Jetty Sungai Belait ended yesterday around 3pm at the Mangrove Paradise Resort, Sungai Belukut.

The expedition was completed by a local, Mohd V Elleys bin Abdullah and a Filipino, Carlito Sameon Cruz - both employees of Megamas Sdn bhd - and two other kayakers from CARE Association Brunei.

The four went on the expedition to collect funds for the Pakistan Flood Relief Fund.

The organiser of the event, the General Manager of Megamas Training Co Sdn Bhd, Mohd Roger Ainsworth, delivered a speech, followed by the presentation of the mobile donation box to the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Hjh Adina binti Othman.

At the event, Pakistan High Commisioner, Lieutenant General (R) Sallah Ud'din, handed over gifts to the kayakers.

Currently, the donations collected for the Pakistan Flood Relief Fund have reached more than $6,000. It is hoped that as the mobile donation box is being passed around, the amount of contributions will increase.
