Sea survival training for cadet officers

Royal Brunei Navy cadet officers who took part in the basic sea survival training, in a group picture.

Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd, based in Mumong, Kuala Belait recently trained a group of Royal Brunei Navy cadet officers in "Basic Sea Survival".

The one-day course was conducted by local instructors and included sea survival, fully abandonment from the vessel, usage of survival equipments, ie life raft and survival jackets.

This is one of the training programmes required to be undertaken by the cadet officers as part of their eight-month development programme.

All new officer cadets entering a career with the Royal Brunei Navy will undergo this programme and basic sea survival training at Megamas.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
