TSW Hazard Spotting

 
 

Scope:-
Megamas set up 21 hazards on a simulated worksite and invited BSP/Contractors to walk around spotting hazards.
Delegates we asked to record all hazards relating to Lifting, Hoisting and Dropped Objects on forms provided

Result:-
87 people from the Menang community participated in the exercise from:
The average number of hazards spotted was 5
The number one spotted hazard was Unbalanced load while lifting (Number of times spotted 72)

Least spotted -  
Rigger using Polka Dot gloves not leather gloves (Number of times spotted 0)
No packing used to prevent sharp edges chaffing the sling (Number of times spotted 6) 
The minimum diameter of rope used for a tag line must be 16 mm (Number of times spotted 6)
The sling should be double wrapped and choked this should give a maximum recommended angle of 60°. (Number of times spotted 8)
Outriggers not fully extended (Number of times spotted 8)

Winner:-
The person who spotted the most hazards is Chris Lau from PTAS (Number of hazards spotted 11)
