Brunei driving school instructor training
Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd in Mumong, Kuala Belait has began training for the sixth batch of nine courses for defensive driving instructors.
The course includes major road safety factors, safe vehicle, road traffic regulation and signs, basic first aid for drivers, defensive driving techniques, emergency braking speed awareness, system of vehicle control and driver attitude.
In December 2010, Megamas signed a contract with the Brunei Land Transport Department to deliver driving courses for the Brunei Driving School Instructors.
The Department of Land Transport was concerned about the rising number of accidents on Brunei roads, and wanted to improve the requirements for becoming a driving instructor.
There are three "on road" assessments, beginning with an initial assessment, then, a coaching session, and a final assessment.
The course includes a one-day Train the Trainer to improve the defensive driving instructor's presentation skills.
To ensure competency and achieve the necessary knowledge and skills to become a better qualified defensive driving instructor, the delegates also have to undergo a written assessment.
The driving school instructors were all very impressed with the training and very pleased with the instructions given by all the instructors led by Mohd Roshawadin Kamaluddin.
