Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd recently sponsored a two-day Defensive Driving Course for four staff from SMARTER and BACA, as part of the company’s social obligation to support SMARTER in nurturing and caring for the welfare of individuals with autism in Brunei.

The training course benefited the SMARTER and BACA staff because they are required to travel to Kuala Belait everyday to pick up students to attend the special programmes offered at BACA centre in Jerudong. The course was aimed at increasing awareness on safety driving in Brunei and the contents of the course included discussions, written exams and practicals in driving. The four successful participants, Jess M Afable, Ma Lourdes R Radovan, Joebani Bonafe and Dewita Sutee each received their certificates after completing the course. One of the participants said, “The course was beneficial as it instilled further knowledge and confidence in road handling and more focus on our twice daily trips to KB and BSB.”

SMARTER parents Mohamad Yousree, meanwhile, expressed his deepest appreciation to Megamas for providing such training. am now more confident about the safety of their journey as my son is one of the passengers so this course should be top priority for all our staff,” he said Megamas management applauded SMARTER’s initiatives in providing and developing special programmes for individuals with autism and also its efforts in providing daily transportation to those individuals from Kuala Belait to BACA centre in Jerudong to attend the programme.
