DURING a recent ceremony held at the Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd in Mumong, Kuala Belait, Mohd Roger Ainsworth received a special company award, which was presented by the Principal of Jefri Bolkiah College of Engineering, Cikgu Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar.

In his 10 years of service, Mohd Roger Ainsworth has expertly navigated the future of the company into one of the current leading training providers in Southeast Asia. During this period, the establishment has accomplished numerous achievements, which include being the first to deliver the OPITO TBOSIET in the world and the NEBOSH IGC in South East Asia.

Megamas is the only training provider in Southeast Asia certified to conduct defensive driving courses to meet the Shell Global Standards.

Since 1990, the company has trained over 90,000 delegates and achieved an outstanding safety performance of 19 years LTI free; unequalled by any other training provider in the region. It also received the International Safety Award from the British Safety Council for five consecutive years from 2004 to 2008. Megamas is also one of only two private training providers worldwide to conduct military training in a civilian setting for Brunei and the Malaysia Armed Forces.

The company was the first training provider in the world to undergo a carbon foot print study to better understand the environmental impacts throughout its core and related businesses.

Megamas has also developed strong links with the Brunei Government and delivered scores of HSE courses for the Petroleum Unit, Brunei Department of Marines, RBA, JKR, Ministry of Development, Brunei Economic Development Board and MINDEF.

Mohd Roger Ainsworth will always be remembered for his hard work, efforts and determination to develop the capabilities of the locals. Cikgu Alias also shared his thoughts and hoped that more expatriates will help to develop local Bruneians in their choice of careers.

In acknowledging the award, the recipient thanked the directors, staff of Megamas and BSP as well as the government, without whom, his success would not have been possible.
