Food Hygiene Course at iLotus
In its efforts to ensure that hygiene is constantly practised in the eatery and to make sure that quality food is served, iLotus restaurant recently sent seven of its staff comprising chefs, captains and waitresses to attend the Basic Food Hygiene Course. The course was conducted by a qualified instructor from Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd, Mr Mohd V Elleys.
During the one-day training course, the staff members were briefed on food hygiene, food poisoning, contamination, personal hygiene and pest control.
Other aspects that were discussed during the course included food storage and temperature control, design and construction of premises, syndicate exercise, food preparation and cooking, disinfecting and cleaning, waste disposal, pest control, keeping with standards as well as assessments.
The Basic Food Hygiene Course was meant to enrich the staff on basic hygiene to ensure that they keep up with the standards set by relevant authorities in offering quality services to patrons, not only in terms of food but also a clean area to dine in. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
