NEBOSH International General Certificate Presentation in Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd
13 delegates were awarded their certificates for the NEBOSH
International General Certificate on 2 July by Dr Stephen Vickers, the
Chief Executive for NEBOSH.
NEBOSH is the awarding body for this prestigious award.
The training was delivered at Megamas by Colin Preston of CMTC over a ten day period in December 2004.
This award ceremony marks the first occasion that NEBOSH International
General Certificate has been run in South East Asia and is a landmark
in setting new and high standards in safety training.
Dr Stephen Vickers has flown out to Brunei for the presentation, he is
the Chief Executive of NEBOSH and states that "We were very pleased
that our course is being seen as a valuable addition to the training
available in the region and I congratulate the delegates on their
success and wish them well in their safety careers. This qualification
can help ensure that truly competent people can assist companies and
indeed Nations; such as Brunei to raise the overall safety standards".
Dr Vickers paid tribute to Megamas saying "We [NEBOSH] know Megamas are
the best". He emphasized that Megamas demonstrate this by providing
training to the highest recognised international standards.
Accompanying Dr Stephen Vickers was Darby Allan, Business Development
Manager for CMTC. CMTC International is a division of Woodland Grange,
one of the top safety training companies in the UK.
CMTC were one of only few providers to run the pilot of the new
programmes and chose Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd, in Kuala Belait,
a privately-owned company, which has consistently sets high standards
of HSE training in the oil and gas and other industries, to work with
them on the delivery of this programme.
Darby says "We are delighted to be working with Megamas in
collaborating to deliver this programme in Brunei and the broader South
East Asia region". Congratulating the delegates, he went on to say
"This is the start of your safety journey, use your training to good
effect to raise standards around you".
