Riverside jetty, lifeboat launch
The launching and tepung tawar ceremony for the lifeboat recently purchased by Jefri Bolkiah Engineering College (MKJB) and Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd's newly built jetty was held in Kuala Balai.The lifeboat was purchased by MKJB for $199,000 to facilitate a safety course called Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue.
The course is jointly conducted by MKJB and Megamas with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding to work closely with the Brunei Department of Marine.
It was agreed Megamas Training Company will construct and maintain a riverside jetty and associated facilities for a lifeboat. Under both MOU, MKJB will provide and maintain a lifeboat and associated launching equipment.
For the Medical Care Onboard course, it was agreed Megamas will provide the venue, all associated equipment and administration support.
The engineering college will, via the relevant government department, provide a suitably qualified course instructor to develop and deliver the course.
MKJB Principal Awg Ibrahim Hj Abd Rahman and the Megamas General Manager Roger Ainsworth launched the lifeboat.
Megamas was established in 1989 as a limited company that provides health safety environmental and emergency response training to the oil and gas industry. It has training facilities in Kuala Belait riverside close to the Seria Bypas.
