Aims To give participants the basic knowledge needed to understand the effect both industry and the public can have on the environment.
Outcomes
  • Participants will be able to:

    • water
    • air
    • soil
    • and give examples of interaction between them
    • understand the concept of sustainable development
    • describe current legislation with respect to environmental issues
    • understand the components of Environmental Management Systems
    • describe local environmental concerns in terms of causes and effects
    • describe the significance of the environmental aspects register of ISO14001 certification and identify personal responsibilities within that system
    • understand individual responsibilities and continual improvement of environmental
    • performance
