Permit To Work (PTW)

This course aims to give participants an understanding of the methods used to make electrical equipment suitable for use in hazardous areas, in order that they are better prepared to inspect and maintain electrical equipment in these areas.

PTW-1 Permit to Work for Worksite Supervisors

The course prepares participants as competent PTW Worksite Supervisors (WSS) by providing knowledge of the PTW system and practical experience of the management of hazards and the operation of the system.

PTW-2 Managing Hazards At The Workplace

The course provides underpinning knowledge of the Hazards and Effects Management Process - HEMP, and practical instruction in the use of hazard management tools; e.g. a Safety Checklist Database and Hazard Identification Plans.

PTW-3 Permit to Work for Signatories

To prepare participants in becoming competent PTW Signatories by providing knowledge of the Permit to Work System and practical experience of the management of hazards and the operation of the system.

PTW-4 Permit to Work for Auditors

The course prepares participants to become PTW Auditors by providing knowledge and practical instruction of planning and executing PTW system audits.

PTW-5 Permit To Work Refresher

To prepare participants in becoming competent PTW Supervisors or PTW Signatories by providing refresher training in all aspects of the Permit to Work System, including the operation of the system in line with recent revisions fo the PTW HSE Standard (Module 3).
