PTTEP Competency Assessor Course


Aims
The purpose of this course is to prepare assessors to carry out assessments of their candidates based on established assessment methods, using a range of evidence and assessing candidates’ performance through observation. To assist PTTEP assessors to develop relevant assessment toolkits/instruments based on PTTEP competence standards.

  • Understand what are the roles of the various organisations and individuals involved in the assessment and qualification process.

  • Understand how competence standards are developed.
  • Develop a simple competence standard.
  • Understand the process of assessment in the workplace.
  • Understand what makes a good Assessor, skills and attributes.
  • Understand how to plan for assessment.
  • Understand how to collect a variety of evidence.
  • Observe performance and collect performance evidence.
  • Assess knowledge and gather knowledge evidence.
  • Record evidence.
  • Provide feedback to the candidate
  • Understand how to make a judgment based on a competence standard.
  • Review competence standards and decide on the most appropriate means of collecting evidence
  • Develop assessment toolkits/instruments based on the competence standards they are going to use to assess their candidates.
      Course content can be further tailored to suit client specific requirements.
Content
  • The course is suitable for any potential competence assessor who assesses candidates against competence standards and requires a recognised qualification.
  • On completion of the training course, participants will be provided with a Megamas certificate indicating successful course completion. Megamas is an Edexcel/BTEC and OPITO approved training and assessment centre.
Location and Duration
The duration of the course is Four (4) days, two days formal training 2 days ‘toolkit’ workshop. Please note, some ‘homework’ may be required The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd. If the training is conducted outside Brunei, a suitable clients’ premise can be used. Client should provide details of the proposed training venue.
Pre-Requisite
It recommended that the assessor should be as a minimum at supervisory level, and speak good English
