FA-13 Workplace First Aid - St. John Ambulance, Australia Approved



Aims
For the participants to be competent in resuscitation and the management of shock, bleeding and burns. Upon successful completion of a practical and theory assessment a certificate of competency is issued, valid for three years.

  • Describe principles of first aid
  • Pace a casualty in the recovery position (demonstration & practice)
  • Understand the respiratory system
  • Understand the circulatory system
  • Apply Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR (demonstration & practice)
  • Be able to use the Automated External Defibrillator
  • Recognise and manage anaphylaxis
  • Deal with shock
  • Control bleeding & infection control
  • Deal with soft tissue injuries
  • Recognize and manage fractures (demonstration)
  • Manage a burns casualty
  • Evaluation of performance and stress management
Location and Duration
The duration of the course is 1-day. The course is delivered at Megamas Training Company Sdn. Bhd., in Mumong/Kuala Balai, Kuala Belait, or Megamas Kiulap.
