MEGAMAS yesterday marked 21 years free of time loss due to work-related injuries, or lost time injury (LTI) yesterday at their headquarters in Kuala Belait. Megamas, a training service provider, celebrated the occasion in a small ceremony among their senior staff and business associates yesterday. They also celebrated their fourth year free of total recordable cases (TRC) of work-related injuries. Mohd Roger Ainsworth, Megamas general manager, said in his opening remarks that the achievement was “unique in the oil/gas training industry and a safety performance unequal by any other training provider worldwide.”
However, he said: “There is still much to do, to continuously improve and try to learn lessons from other incidents worldwide”. He warned against complacency, stating that failure of organisations to learn from previous accidents is a widespread phenomenon. “It seems we want to be taught the same lessons time and time again.”
