The Department of Land Transport and Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd yesterday signed an agreement to upgrade the quality of driving school instructors at a ceremony that took place at the Driving School and Circuit of the department in Sungai Akar.

Present as the guest of honour and to witness the signing ceremony was the Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Communications, Dato Paduka Hj Awg Alaihuddin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Hj Awg Mohd Taha.

Signing on behalf of the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was the Acting Director of LTD, Awg Hj Khalid Awg Hj Mustafa and Acting Deputy Director LTD, Awg Hj Joharry Hj Abd Karim.

Meanwhile, representing Megamas was the Managing Director, Dyg Hjh Khadijah Mohamed and its General Manager, Awg Mohd Roger Ainsworth.

The signing of the agreement was a follow up for the Memorandum of Understanding signed last March. Under this agreement, LTD will be sending 76 driving school instructors throughout the nation to acquire their instructorship certification.

This continuous effort by LTD through MINCOMM serves to upgrade the quality of the providing driving lessons by local driving instructors and the fight towards curbing road accidents through a safer, more efficient and better skills learning system practices.

Yesterday’s event saw the handing over of a “Safe Driving” curriculum publication and road traffic signs posters by Megamas to the guest of honour.
