Recently, Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd trained the 4th batch of 10 defensive driving participants for BGP Inc, China National Petroleum Corporation in Miri, Malaysia.

To-date, Megamas has trained approx. 40 participants in Miri in order to respond to BGP’s desire to protect everyone’s safety and to equip all their drivers with the skills needed to minimize the risks they might experience in driving for the company.

BGP’s decision to engage Megamas in Miri was as a result of the very good feedback from defensive driving courses they had experienced with Megamas in Brunei.

BGP, one of the world’s leading geophysical service companies, and Megamas have collaborated together to provide a specially tailored-made driver training course for their employees.

Participants were given hands-on experience in operating 4 wheel drive vehicles (4WD) in an estate plantation area and practiced defensive driving techniques during the course.

The training also involved safe driving on an unsealed road and in dusty conditions, the need to adjust speed to suit the vehicle and the road conditions (e.g. dust, rain or mud), the danger of driving in near-zero visibility, limit points (correct vehicle position to improve visibility) and the appropriate defensive driving actions required.
