THE Brunei National Road Safety Council (BNRSC) in collaboration with Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd organised a ‘Defensive Driving’ briefing for 88 participants at the Training and Driving Test Circuit Complex, Land Transport Department (JPD) in Sungai Akar yesterday morning.

The briefing was one of the events for the Road Safety Week in conjunction with the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2018 launched earlier this month.

Defensive Driving Coach from Megamas Mahyuddin bin Haji Musa delivered the briefing.

Chairman of Insurance and Takaful Brunei (BITA) Haji Osman bin Haji Jair in his capacity as the Ambassador for BNRSC, JPD Assistant Director and Head Branch of Training and Driving Test Circuit Complex Haji Joharry bin Haji Abdul Karim, Deputy General Manager of Megamas Haji Mahmud bin Haji Idris, officers and staff members of Ministry of Communications and departments under it as well as members of BNRSC Secretariat were also present.

The topics included the importance of safety practices on the road such as complying with speed limits, fastening seat belts, wearing helmets, bright clothing (with reflectors) and other safety equipment for cyclists and bikers; not driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs; not using mobile phones while driving, and ensuring good vehicle’s tyres.

The event also saw the ‘Road Safety Pledge’ for the participants.
