Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd, based in Mumong, Kuala Belait recently commenced the EICF programme for local Bruneians to be trained as scaffolders and riggers.

There will be 22 scaffolders and 32 riggers.

The Energy Industry Competency Framework (EICF), established in July 2013, is a joint collaboration between the Energy Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EDPMO), the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the energy industry with objectives of defining the competencies required to perform jobs and roles in the workplace in the energy industry, creating alignment between training providers and industry requirements, as well as increasing employability by up-scaling the skills obtained by locals to increase the number of Bruneians to work in the energy industry.

The programme at Megamas consists of classroom/practical and work-placement in industry.
On completion of the course, all students will be offered guaranteed jobs in the oil/gas industries.

This is an excellent initiative by the Government which Megamas is proud to be part of the programme.
