Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd, based in Mumong, Kuala Belait recently presented a long service award to Morni Karim following 24 years service with the Company.

Morni joined Megamas on 26th March 1990 as an Assistant Instructor and worked for 4 years gaining experience mainly in offshore, marine and aviation.

In February 1995, he became a Deputy Instructing assisting the course instructor for the delivery of the Master File in a safe and efficient manner.

In March 2000, Morni became an OPITO approved instructor for the Tropical BOSIET including Travel Safely by Boat and Tropical FOET including Travel Safely by Boat.

In January 2002, Morni was promoted to Senior Instructor and his job activities increased to maintaining the budgets for offshore, marine and aviation and preparing Monthly Reports and maintenance activities when required.

David Doig, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of OPITO, highlighted many years ago to Megamas that Morni was as equal of any instructor for OPITO training anywhere in the world.

In December 2007, Morni was to become Megamas Deputy Training Manager, a position he holds until today. Although he now spends much time in management-type activities, he still conducts training on a regular basis, .e.g. he was instrumental to Megamas becoming an OPITO approved centre for Helicopter Landing Officers.

He has represented Megamas at conferences, exhibitions in Brunei and the Region, and at OPITO TPAG Meetings.

According to Hajah Khadijah Mohamed, Managing Director, Morni is an excellent example of a hard-working, co-operative, and loyal employee always willing to do his best for the company.

In addition, Hajah Khadijah has commented that Morni is typical of many local Bruneians who given the opportunity and right working environment, can perform to the highest levels, and, at the same time, achieve their potential and move into a management position.

According to David Doig, Group Chief Executive of OPITO, Morni is a credit to himself and his family and without doubt one of the best instructors he has ever seen.
