Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd recently attended the 15th Asian Oil and Gas (OGA) 2015 Exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.

According to Mohd Roger Ainsworth (Megamas General Manager), “the OGA 2015 offers an opportunity to unearth new developments and to explore possible ventures in line with our internationalization programme.

There are over 2,000 companies in the oil and gas sector under one roof to showcase their products and services. It is expected the OGA Exhibition will attract over 23,000 visitors.”

Mohd Roger added “Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd has always had a close relationship with OPITO after being the 1st training provider worldwide to deliver the OPITO TBOSIET course in March 2000, and in cooperation with OPITO, Megamas strives to deliver training designed  to improve safety and competence in the oil and gas industry, and also, in having an effective competence management system, we hope it will bring real and lasting benefits in terms of business and safety performance to our organisation.”

Mohd Roger further added “in addition, by having a close cooperation with OPITO, who work closely with the industry to identify the need for new training standards, this can only be of benefit to Megamas in ensuring quality training in accordance with the internationally-recognised standards.”

Megamas has an outstanding policy in the recruitment, training and development of local Bruneians, and to-date 87% of their staff are local citizens.

Hjh Khadijah Mohamed (Megamas Managing Director) said recently “it’s no coincidence that workplaces with the lowest accident rates employ more people with health and safety qualifications. As an organization, we have a history of continuous improvement in training our local instructor staff to ensure that the training meets international training standards, for example, OPITO, CITB, RoSPA, LEEA, and CIEH.

We also have a policy to give opportunities to our local instructor staff to attend international meetings/forums overseas. Recently, Rusmi bin Merzuki, one of our local experienced offshore Senior instructors was asked to attend on behalf of Megamas the OPITO Training Providers Advisory Group (TPAG) meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

Megamas has done well in the recent years but a successful future is not guaranteed. We must earn it, and that means tangible improvements. Year on year improvements have been made to existing processes and new initiatives introduced.

We are committed to maintaining the highest possible standards of HSE and Business Integrity because these standards are not only our core values, but also because they are vital for the bottom-line business performance.

Simply put, a good safety performance results in a good business performance.”
