Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd has delivered the second NEBOSH Oil/Gas 5-day course recently at its training centre in Mumong, Kuala Belait. The course offers the participants an opportunity to learn more about the important health and safety issues relating to the production, storage and processing of hydrocarbons in the oil and gas industry.

The course covers specific areas of interest in the oil/gas industry, including Contractor Management, Process Safety Management, Plant Operations and Maintenance, Safety Critical Equipment Controls, Safe Storage of Hydrocarbons, Fire Hazards, Risks and Controls, Emergency Response, Marine Transport and Land Transport.

The course instructor is Mohd Roger Ainsworth, who recently was recognised by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK) having become a Member and Chartered Engineer 40 years ago in May 1973.

The course participants were from various companies including many private companies, Ensco, Hengyi Industry Sdn Bhd and Talisman Malaysia Limited.

NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) was formed in 1979 as an independent examining board and awarding body and offers a comprehensive range of globally-recognised, vocationally-related qualifications designed to meet the health, safety, environmental and risk management needs of all places of work in both and private and public sectors. The qualifications are recognised by the relevant professional membership bodies including the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
