THIRTY pints was successfully collected during the blood donation drive organised yesterday by Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd at its Kuala Balai headquarters, with the support of the Blood Bank Unit of the Seri Suri Begawan Hospital in Kuala Belait.

Among those present was Michael Stringer @ Mohd Firdaus Eswandi, the General Manager of Megamas Training Company, along with several senior officers and staff members, who were willing to roll up their sleeves for a good cause.

The blood drive was also held as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility, while at the same time marking its recent ‘28th Year Loss Time Injury Free’ milestone.

The general manager told the Weekend Bulletin that he believed the campaign should raise more awareness among the company’s staff members, on the importance of donating blood.

“I think it is great that we are able to help the hospital blood bank, and to be able to save the lives of those who need it,” he added.

Norasna binti Haji Zainidi, one of the lab assistants from the Blood Bank Unit, said they have a steady supply at the moment, owing to the constant support from various associations and companies.

“There are at least two campaigns every month, to help bolster the supply in the blood bank,” she said, while adding that more blood donation drives will be held in the near future, prior to the month of Ramadhan.
