BRUNEI Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP), in collaboration with Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd and the Brunei National Road Safety Council (BNRSC), organised its first ‘Tell Everyone’ Safety Outreach Programme 2019 at the multipurpose hall of the Lumut Campus Politeknik Brunei yesterday.

The event started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a welcoming remark by BSP’s Head of Services, Transport and Logistics Rosman bin Haji Abdul Rahman.

The event continued with a presentation on the importance of driving responsibly by Megamas representative Ranold Ramli. Several booths were set up by firms including BSP, Megamas, BNRSC and Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd, to exhibit topics including communicating key road safety messages such as speed, control, wearing seat belts, no mobile phone usage while driving, not driving under the influence (DUI), wearing helmet and/or proper attire while riding and being aware of pedestrians, school children, joggers and cyclists, as well as ensuring safe tyres.

The event also saw attendees participating in activities such as online simulator exercise to test effectiveness of driving while talking on the phone, good behaviour improvement through lagging and leading indicators (vehicle tracking), road risk assessment, as well as vehicle compliance and fatigue management.

The outreach programme targetted youth aged 18 to 38 from higher educational institutions across Brunei and aimed to provide road safety awareness, awareness on different traffic rule violations and of embracing a positive attitude, which is in line with BSP’s commitment in ensuring that everyone returns home safely.
