THE importance of safety, especially on the usage of safety belts, the risks of using mobile phones while driving and walking, the use of pedestrian crossing, speeding and the likes were discussed during a road safety awareness talk at Sayyidina Ali Secondary School on Monday afternoon in the school hall for their Year 10 and Lower Six students.

The talk was conducted by Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

The talk began with welcoming remarks by the school’s Deputy Principal Shim Sheau Huei, followed by an opening speech by Megamas Training Company Executive Advisor Mohd Roger Ainsworth.

Megamas Training Company’s experienced Defensive Driving Senior Instructor Vincent Koo conducted the talk to the students, teachers and staff.

The students also participated in group activities such as knowing the local road signs and identifying the safe and unsafe acts on the road.

The talk was in line with the Ministry of Communications’ Road Safety initiative.

Acting Principal cum Deputy Principal Academic 1 of Sayyidina Ali Secondary School Sharifah Raihani binti Haji Wan Ali, Business Development and IT Manager of Megamas Training Company Jeremy Chua and Administration Manager of Megamas Training Company Nadiah Ainsworth were also present.
