Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd, leading health and safety training provider based in Mumong, Kuala Belait, recently achieved “6 Years Total Recordable Cases (TRC) Free” safety performance, which means that they have had no injuries more serious than a first aid case in 6 years.

This achievement comes only 10 days after Megamas also achieved “23 Years Loss Time Injury (LTI) Free” on 14th March 2013.

According to Mohd Roger Ainsworth (Megamas General Manager), “Megamas has worked hard to climb up the “HSE Culture Ladder” over the last 6 years or so, to the point whereby today safe behaviour is fully integrated into everything the organisation does, there is active participation in safety at all levels, and safety is an integral part of the business.

We are very pleased to have achieved this magnificent and truly world class performance, but it cannot be achieved by a “hit and miss” approach, and, in this respect, there has been an exemplary standard set by all Megamas employees to deliver good safety training underpinned by the right safety culture and values, and a rigorously executed suite of safety management systems”.

Commenting further, Mohd Roger added “looking back, it has been a remarkable journey for everybody involved, and it would not have been possible without the help and cooperation of so many people over these years, including all the help from the Brunei Shell Joint Venture Companies, TOTAL, Petroleum Brunei, Brunei Methanol Company, Petronas Carigali BRUNEI, BEDB, Brunei Government, MINDEF, and all our contractors who have worked closely with us over the years, and for which we are so grateful.

In conclusion, I’d like to add that, despite our success, we must not become complacent, and, we must continue to ensure worker’s safety is always our first and foremost consideration and priority”.
